STRONG SONGWRITING by Morgan Cryar
The sun has managed to creep in through the blinds. A tiny slither of light, like a mini spotlight, Turn your head and it is still there on the pillow, staring as if it were the eyes of Jesus in a painting of the Last Supper that follows you as you walk side to side to observe the magnificent room-wide mural painting. You clamp your eyes shut, but somehow the comfort of sleep has left you. You think that if you scoot down in the bed you will escape the spotlight., but your miscalculations thrust you once more into center stage. What’s with this? It can’t be time to get up!
Doesn’t the sun know it is Sunday and I get an additional hour to sleep? Such a lack of cooperation! Whoops, Lord, you are the maker of the sun, didn’t mean to offend your creation. I stretch my toes and wiggle slightly, then I glance at the clock. Yikes, I forgot Daylight Savings Time, I’m going to be late! Thanks, Lord, for the wake up call
